About RE
Our Religious Education program offers Sunday morning classes for children and many activities at other times during the month. We also offer a varied schedule of Adult RE programs and groups.
Curriculum
Preschoolers, ages 3 to 5, are following the "Chalice Children" curriculum, which is designed to nurture spiritual growth, creativity and connection to their Unitarian Universalist community through hands-on rituals such as simple rhymes, fingerplays, games and other activities.
Primary grades, K5 through third grade, are focusing on Special Times, a yearlong program that acquaints the children with Jewish and Christian heritages and engages them in celebrations of Jewish and Christian holidays and other special times.
Upper elementary, fourth through sixth grades, will follow the Timeless Themes curriculum, which presents Bible stories and engages children in the exploration of biblical themes such as trust, loneliness, loyalty, sibling rivalry, obedience, anger, jealousy, deception, forgiveness and love.
Youth, seventh through 12th grades, are studying from two texts: "What Do You Stand For: A Kid's Guide to Building Character" and "Neighboring Faiths."
Safety policy
Adult volunteers in the Religious Education program are subject to a criminal background check.
